The bottom line Buy it for the socket, not the extra three litres. Everything else here is the same machine as the WD 3.
The WD 4 P adds three litres to the WD 3 and one thing that matters much more: an appliance socket on the machine.
Why the socket changes the tool
A vacuum with a power take-off stops being a cleaning machine and becomes dust extraction. The tool plugs into the vacuum, the vacuum senses the trigger, and dust is captured where it is made rather than swept up afterwards. For anyone sanding indoors, that is the difference between a job and a fortnight of fine dust on every surface in the house.
Reach, finally
Five metres of cable and 2.2 metres of hose give about seven metres of working radius. It is not generous — the WD 6 P S offers eight metres of cable and 3.5 of hose — but it is enough to work across a garage without dragging the machine after you every two minutes.
The filter class, plainly
This is an L-class machine. That covers sawdust, general workshop debris and household mess. It does not cover plaster, concrete or MDF dust, which need M-class filtration; the difference is not bureaucratic, it is what stays airborne in the room afterwards.

Questions people actually ask
What does the power take-off actually do?
The tool plugs into the vacuum instead of the wall. Pull the trigger on the sander and the vacuum starts with it; release, and it runs on for a second to clear the hose. That single feature is what makes sanding indoors tolerable, and it is the reason to choose a P model over the plain one.
Can I use it for plaster dust?
Not safely as sold. Fine mineral dust needs at least M-class filtration; an L-class cartridge passes a proportion of it straight through the motor and back into the room. For occasional light sanding, a fleece bag plus the cartridge helps — for a genuine plasterboard job, hire or buy an M-class extractor.
