The bottom line The right small machine — provided it is sold where you are, which it is not everywhere.
The UniversalVac 15 is Bosch’s domestic wet and dry machine: 1 000 W, 15 litres, and five paper bags in the box.
Small on purpose
Most buying advice pushes towards larger drums. In a flat or a single garage the opposite is true: a 15-litre machine lives on a shelf, is carried in one hand, and is therefore used for the ten-minute jobs — a car footwell, the space under a radiator, a spill in a utility room. A 30-litre machine does those jobs equally well and usually stays where it is.
What it does not have
There is no power take-off socket, so it will not start with a sander. If dust extraction is the reason for the purchase, the Kärcher WD 4 P or the Einhell SACL machines are the right shelf.
Bags, and the running cost
Five paper bags are supplied. They are the cheapest consumable in this comparison and the fastest to clog on fine material. If the machine’s regular job is fine dust, price the fleece equivalents before deciding — the difference in bag price is small against the annoyance of suction that fades halfway through.
Availability
Verified on Germany, France, Italy and Spain under one reference, with unusually consistent pricing. Verified absent from the UK and US stores — readers there are sent to a local search rather than to a dead page.

Questions people actually ask
Paper or fleece bags?
Paper is cheaper and comes in the box; fleece costs more and holds several times as much before suction fades, because it filters over its whole surface instead of blocking at the inlet. On sawdust the difference is small. On anything fine and heavy — ash, plaster, sand — a paper bag can choke in a single session.
Is fifteen litres too small?
Not for a car, a hallway or a small workshop, and the compactness is a genuine feature: the machine that fits on a shelf is the machine that gets used. It becomes limiting the moment you pick up water, where fifteen litres is a couple of buckets.
