Lehmann

German-market value equipment across three different families, sold on capacity rather than on refinement

Lehmann is the sort of brand that exists because the premium brands price their entry models above what the job needs.

The ash vacuum is the clearest case

An ash vacuum needs a metal drum, a metal hose and a filter that copes with fine ash. Those are the requirements, and a machine that meets them at a low price meets them fully — there is no premium version of a metal bucket.

Capacity over features

The 30-liter workshop machine and the 1800 W extraction unit are both sold on numbers. What they do not have is the filter-cleaning button, the sophisticated recovery design or the published fine detail that the premium machines carry.

What to check before buying

Consumables. On value brands the question is always whether filters and bags are still sold in three years, and at what price. Where an equivalent premium filter fits, that is worth knowing before you commit.

And read the wet pick-up instructions. Machines in this class vary in whether the filter comes out for water, and getting that wrong ruins the element rather than the machine.
