The bottom line The most versatile machine in this family, and the one with the most ways to use it wrongly.
The SteamWash 1800 combines extraction and steam: cold water, 60 °C hot water, steam wash and 116 °C dry steam, from an 1 800 W machine.
Numbers instead of adjectives
Most machines in this class say “hot water” and “steam”. This one gives 60 °C and 116 °C, which is what lets you decide what to use where. Sixty degrees is right for grease and body oils on upholstery; 116 °C steam belongs on grout, tile and hard surfaces, and on fabric only with an extraction pass behind it.
The rule that saves the sofa
Heat sets protein. Blood, milk, egg and most bodily accidents want cold water first — going in hot is how a removable stain becomes permanent. Grease is the opposite. If you cannot identify the stain, cold is the safer default.
The finish is always the same
Whatever the mode, the last step decides how the sofa smells in a week: two or three passes with the spray and steam off, pulling water back out. Upholstery holds far more liquid than its surface suggests.

Strengths
Publishes both temperatures — 60 °C water and 116 °C steam — rather than saying 'hot'

Compromises
Four modes means four techniques to learn, and the wrong one soaks a sofa
No suction figure published

Questions people actually ask
Does hot water clean better on upholstery?
On grease and body oils, yes — that is most of what a sofa arm accumulates. On protein stains, the opposite: heat sets blood, milk and egg, and cold water is the correct first response. A machine with both is genuinely more capable than one with either, provided you know which stain you are looking at.
Steam and extraction in the same machine — a gimmick?
Not necessarily, because they do different jobs: steam softens and sanitises hard surfaces, extraction removes liquid from fabric. The risk is using steam on upholstery and leaving it damp with nothing to pull the water back out — do the steam pass, then extract, then dry-pass.
