Kränzle

Trade machines built to be repaired rather than replaced

Kränzle is the clearest illustration on this site of what money buys once it stops buying pressure. The K 1152 TS offers 130 bar — less than a mid-range domestic machine — on a self-supporting frame, running from an ordinary 230 V socket.

What the price actually buys

A slow-running pump with replaceable seals, metal where domestic machines use structural plastic, and a parts network that expects the machine to be repaired at five years rather than binned. The economics only work if the machine runs most days: for a household terrace, the same money buys a good mid-range washer, a surface cleaner and years of patio treatment.

Fittings and accessories

Trade machines live on the M22 thread, which is the nearest thing this market has to a standard. That makes accessories broadly interchangeable across trade brands — and means a Kärcher or Nilfisk accessory needs an adapter, with all the caution that implies.

The nozzle to respect

Kränzle’s rotary nozzle is called a Schmutzkiller, and it is exactly what the domestic dirt blasters are: the machine’s whole output concentrated on a spinning point. On concrete it is unmatched. On render, decking and paint it is a marking tool.
