A five-litre 3-in-1 concentrate for carpets, mats and mattresses, with its effort put into odour rather than appearance.

Odour is usually the real problem

People hire or buy a spray extraction machine because something smells, not because something looks grey. A product formulated for that is the closer match — with one honest caveat below.

Fragrance is not neutralisation

A pleasant smell is not the same as an absent one. On general grime and mustiness the two overlap; on a pet accident they do not, because the source is in the underlay and needs an enzyme product and cold water.

The format

Five litres at close to the price of a retail bottle. On a machine that uses solution by the tankful, that is the sensible unit.
