Adapters live at the highest-pressure point of the system and get tightened repeatedly. Plastic ones creep and eventually weep; brass tolerates it. At this price there is no argument for plastic.
M22 comes in 14 mm and 15 mm (0.59 in) insert sizes, indistinguishable at a glance and not sealed against each other. A leaking joint that is already tight is almost always this. Check the insert dimension in the specification before assuming the adapter is faulty.

Yes. Plastic adapters deform slightly each time they are tightened and eventually weep or strip; brass does not. On the component that sits between a pump and a lance at 150 bar, a few dollars for metal is the cheapest insurance in this whole category.
M22 fittings exist with two different internal insert diameters. They look identical from outside and do not seal against each other properly. If an M22 accessory leaks despite being tight, mismatched inserts are the usual cause — check the specification, not the thread.
