The bottom line Buy it for the width if the ground is open — and expect to empty it often in autumn.
The Güde GKM 700 sweeps the widest path in the affordable half of this group — 700 mm — at a quoted 2 000 m²/h, into a 14-litre hopper.
Width against volume
Fifty extra millimetres of width means fewer passes down a drive. Fourteen litres of hopper means more walks to the bin. Which of those decides your Saturday depends entirely on what you are sweeping: grit and dust are compact, leaves are not.
The advantage of an old model
This machine has been sold for years, which is worth something practical: brushes, and the parts that wear, are easy to find. On sweepers the brushes are the consumable, and a machine whose spares have vanished is a machine with a season left in it.
The same limits as the rest
Dry debris only. Wet leaves mat the roller, loose gravel is thrown rather than collected, fine dust is mostly moved. Set the brush height for the surface and expect to change it between a smooth terrace and a rough drive.

What we like, and what we don't
Strengths
700 mm of width — 50 mm more than the Kärcher and Scheppach machines here
Long-standing model, so brushes and spares are easy to find
Simple: nothing on it to fail
Compromises
14-litre hopper: the smallest here, so more trips to the bin
Wider machines are harder to store and to turn in a narrow passage

Questions people actually ask
Wider is better, surely?
For a long straight drive, yes — fewer passes. In a courtyard with corners, a wider machine is harder to turn and harder to get up to a wall, and it stores less easily. Width helps in proportion to how open the area is.
Fourteen litres — how often is that emptied?
On grit and dust, rarely. On autumn leaves, constantly: leaves are bulky and a 14-litre hopper fills in a few passes. If leaves are the main job, the 20-litre machines in this group are the better match, or accept the walk to the bin.
