The bottom line The sensible corded option: no runtime anxiety, and the price is the same wherever in Europe you buy it.
The CrossWave HF2 is the corded machine in a category that has gone cordless: a two-tank system, a self-propelled head and a one-button self-cleaning cycle.
The case for a cable
A cordless floor washer stops when the battery does, usually two-thirds of the way through a ground floor, and its battery is the component that ages fastest. A corded machine runs as long as the tank lasts and will still run identically in five years. What you accept in exchange is a cable across the floor and a socket to find — which, on the floor you are cleaning, is a smaller nuisance than it sounds.
Two tanks, not one
Clean water and solution on one side, everything that comes off the floor on the other. That separation is the reason these machines beat a mop: you are never rinsing a room with the previous room’s water. It is worth confirming on any machine in this category — the ones without it are mops with motors.
Self-cleaning, with a caveat
The cycle rinses the brush roll and the internals at the press of a button. What the listing does not state is a temperature or a drying stage, and both are what stop a damp roller from smelling. If the machine lives in a warm kitchen, plan on removing the roller occasionally regardless.

Questions people actually ask
Corded or cordless?
Corded machines never stop mid-floor and have no battery to lose capacity in a few years; cordless machines are quicker to pick up for five minutes and have nothing to trip over. For a large hard floor cleaned in one session, corded is the more rational choice — and it is the one the market is quietly abandoning.
How important is the two-tank system?
It is the whole argument against a mop. One tank holds clean water and solution, the other collects what comes off the floor, and they never mix. A mop and bucket does the opposite: after the first room you are spreading dilute dirt. Any machine in this category without two tanks is not doing the job.
