Are ceramic pressure washer nozzles worth the extra?

On a machine used often, yes — ceramic resists the erosion that turns a brass orifice oval and costs you pressure.

Nozzles wear from the inside as grit passes through. Once the orifice loses its shape the spray pattern widens and the pressure at the surface drops, which owners usually blame on the pump.

Ceramic inserts, standard on trade machines and available on domestic ones, last considerably longer.

Either way, a nozzle is a consumable. Keep a spare, and check the pattern against the light rather than waiting for the machine to feel tired.
