How do I know when a pressure washer nozzle is worn out?

Pressure falls gradually over months, the fan develops a gap or a wandering edge, and the machine feels weak even though the supply is fine.

Nozzles wear from the inside as water erodes the orifice. The hole gets larger, so more water passes at lower pressure — which is exactly what a failing pump feels like, and it costs a fraction as much to fix.

Check it before you conclude the machine is dying. Compare the spray pattern with a new one: a worn nozzle gives an uneven fan with thin patches, and the edges are no longer crisp.

They are cheap, and replacing one is the first thing to try when a machine that used to work well no longer does. Buy by machine model, not by appearance.
