Not the cleaning — you still spray and wipe with the microfibre cover. It replaces the final squeegee pass and the cloth on the sill, and it puts the dirty water in a tank instead of on the floor. It removes the two things people dislike: the streaks left by a squeegee's final pass, and the water running down onto the sill and the floor. The dirty water ends up in the machine's tank.
