Polti Vaporetto Smart 120 vs Kärcher SC 3 Deluxe

More pressure, or less waiting?

Both solve the classic boiler problem, in opposite ways: Polti separates the tank from the boiler, Kärcher does away with the pressurised wait entirely.

A tick marks the better answer on that line only. Counting ticks does not decide the page — the two verdicts below do, because these machines answer different questions.

Which of the two, for which job

Vaporetto Smart 120

No amazon.com listing was found for this one. We hold references for other markets but none for the United States, so it may not be buyable here — which is the first thing to weigh against anything below.

Prefer the Polti for whole-house sessions: more pressure, twice the water, and a steam dial that lets one machine handle grout and sealed wood.

Buy the SC 3 Deluxe

Buy the Kärcher if the machine will be picked up for ten minutes at a time. Thirty seconds is what makes that happen.

The questions we hear

What does the steam dial actually protect?

Laminate joints, sealed wood, glass and fabric. A single-setting machine is tuned for its hardest job — grout — and that is exactly the wrong amount of water for a wood floor.
