The T-Racer T 5 is a hood containing two rotating flat jets, with the distance to the surface adjustable — which is the whole reason to buy this rather than a cheaper fixed head.
A surface cleaner concentrates the machine’s output into two spinning jets a few millimetres from the ground. Too close, and softwood decking goes furry and old stone gets etched. A few millimetres higher and the same machine cleans without leaving a record of every pass. Fixed-height heads have one setting, and it is the wrong one on at least one of your surfaces.
It keeps the spray off the wall you are standing beside, and off you. A bristle ring around the rim holds the dirt inside the housing rather than throwing it a metre up the render. Anyone who has cleaned a patio with a bare lance knows why that is not a luxury.
The jets are driven by the water passing through them, so a machine with modest flow spins them slowly and cleans less evenly. This head suits mid-range and upward machines; on an entry washer with unpublished flow, expect a slower pass.

Because the distance between a flat jet and the surface decides how much energy reaches it. Close in, the jets strip timber fibres and etch soft stone; a few millimetres higher, they clean without marking. A fixed-height head is set for one surface and used on all of them, which is how terraces end up with visible passes.
Only if the machine is a Kärcher K-series with the bayonet fitting. Nilfisk's Click&Clean, Bosch's connector and the M22 thread used by trade machines are all different. Adapters exist and add a joint at the highest-pressure point in the system — buy the head for your own fitting where you can.
