Wet and dry, no swap
The component that decides whether wet pick-up needs a filter change — and it is a consumable.

The flat pleated filter that lets recent Kärcher WD machines pick up water and dust without changing filters.
On older and cheaper machines, wet vacuuming means removing the paper or pleated element and fitting a foam one — a step people forget, at the cost of the filter. The pleated filter in its box removes the step entirely, which is the single biggest usability difference in this family of machines.
It can be rinsed, but each cycle costs a little performance, and fine dust in the pleats is permanent. Use a fleece bag for dry debris so the filter only handles what escapes, and always let it dry fully before refitting.
A longer-lasting element for dusty work — not a licence to vacuum plaster with an L-class machine.
The consumable that decides whether your vacuum keeps its suction through a whole job.
Same fleece construction as the KFI 487, in the size the smaller WD vacuums take.
The detergent that lets you drop the pressure — which is what protects the surface.
Treats the water on the way in, so scale never forms — the running cost nobody prices at purchase.
A bottle that clips into the machine — no measuring, no mixing, and no choice of dilution.
